So I've been reading a lot on line about getting your baby on a schedule for naps and feedings. I started to log when he naturally wanted to eat and sleep so I could get an idea for a good schedule and this week he's been so different everyday it's been difficult to determine! Yesterday he took a 3 hour nap in the morning but every other day he's up most of the morning and takes his 3 hour nap in the afternoon. He might even be having a growth spurt because he's eating more than usual this week too. How do people decide on schedules? I swear once I think I have it down he seems to change and need more or less of something.
I went out and bought a couple things so I can set him down more. I'm trying to break him from always wanting to be held. He likes the mat and the bumbo until he notices I'm doing other stuff and not paying attention to him. I'm in trouble huh? Well, he is my little buddy and I like him with me but I know that'll be a problem soon.
I love how relaxed and cool he looks in the Bumbo.

Hi Jacie. I hope you don't mind me reading your blog. Your baby is SO cute! It took Savannah forever to get on a schedule. She finally just figured it out on her own with no help from me! And I feel your pain, she hated all baby toys like the swing, bumbo, walker, pretty much anything that didn't involve me holding her. Anyway, just wanted to say hi. Good luck!
oh he is just getting cuter and cuter! If I were still around I'd offer to come by and hold him for you :) Good luck with finding a schedule!
He is one good-looking kid. Good luck with the schedule thing.
Jace!
Hey, I was just thinking about what an AMAZING mom you are! I hear so much about "those moms" who get all caught up reading books on how to raise their children....never putting down the books to actually play and enjoy their babies. You are amazing because you are so relaxed and enjoy your sweet baby so much. And you do not need a learners manual to figure it out, you are a natural. I am SO proud of the mother you are. Enjoy the time now.....schedules go right out the door when they go to school and that comes much to quickly. Can I be you when I grow up????
Jacie! I just found your blog and have been enjoying reading about you, your husband and your new little baby boy :) He is adorable and looks like lots of fun!
I just had a little boy on July 3rd. As for schedules, I was super strict with my daughter Breanna for her sleeping, eating, playing. She is a great sleeper now. With Ethan (#2) I have been VERY relaxed and just let whatever happens happen with him. I don't know why I'm so different with each, but I just had a lot more time to worry about a schedule with Breanna. I've just actually started thinking about him and when I should do a "schedule" but I just keep thinking, as long as he's happy right now with his own schedule that's just fine for me :)
It's so good to see what's going on in your life. Check my blog out sometime when you get a chance! You look beautiful and very happy!
He is so cute. I love that pic of him after he had his blowout. So adorable.
So, I have to tell you...I love schedules :) Some books that I found to be helpful include Baby Wise, Happy Baby Healthy Sleep Habits (or something like that) These books are a little strict, but have some good advice. Here in a little bit, Caden will probably be taking more "scheduled" naps - one in the morning and one in the afternoon, and maybe even an evening one. Every baby is different, but some predictability can be a nice thing!
Good luck :)
Oh - have you tried a Jumperoo? (He might be a little young for it - they have to be able to hold up their head really well) Logan LOVED his! He would cry when I took him out of it! It was his most favorite thing ever :)
Hey Jacie! Your little guy is such a cutie! I think a schedule is one of the hardest things about being a mom. Each new stage in their life changes their schedule a little or a lot and you start again. :{ I read Baby Wise and liked it but it wasn't specific enough for me. I purchased Sleep Sense from a sleep coach named Dana Obelman. Found it online and have absolutely loved it. It has changed Trey's and my life. I highly recommend it. It cost me 40 bucks but was totally worth my sleep and sanity :) Good luck!
